Max Richards

is an actor who sings, and might dance for you if you give him some notice. He was born and raised in Kirksville, Missouri. A boundless curiosity for anything new and an avid adventurous mindset led him to New York City.

The first play Max ever saw was performed in an old cattle auction barn behind his grandparents' house. He spent days during his childhood playing, pretending, and building worlds with his Nana in that space. When he turned 11 he started acting in plays at a local Repertory Theatre and has been working with the craft ever since.

Max approaches the world optimistically, and sees art as a foundation of society. He believes that without storytelling, communities would struggle to effectively work with, and relate to one another. He enjoys psychologically exploring characters and stories, and putting shows together like a puzzle before letting audiences take from it what they need. He hopes to peak curiosity in people and leave them examining the world around them differently.

Max graduated from Truman State University (2020) with a BA degree in Theatre (Acting focus) and a minor in Music (Vocal Performance). He also attended American Theatre Wing's Springboard NYC (Musical Theatre), and was an Acting Apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival (2019)

He currently resides in East Village, New York City with his boyfriend, Brandon, and an entourage of house plants.

In his free time he can be found drawing, reading, watching his new favorite anime, or out of the city on a last minute adventure. He's also a great bartender and loves hosting parties for friends and family!
